The Museum is located at 396 County Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
From Boston (55 miles southeast of Boston):
- Take 128 south to route 24 south to140 south to 195 east.
- Take exit 26 (old exit 15) for MA-18 south, to the second set of traffic lights.
- Turn right at the lights onto Union Street and travel to top of hill.
- Left onto County Street, travel four blocks to #396 (yellow building on left).
From Providence (30 miles east of Providence):
- Take 195 east to exit 26 (old exit 15) for MA-18 south, to the second set of traffic lights.
- Turn right at the lights onto Union Street and travel to top of hill.
- Left onto County Street, travel four blocks to #396 (yellow building on left).
Free Parking
We recommend parking on the three streets adjacent to the property: Madison, 7th, or Jose Gonsalves. Additional parking may be found in the neighborhood around the Museum. There is no off-street parking available at this time. After parking, you may enter the grounds through the green gate on Madison Street. Follow directional signs to reach the Museum’s main entrance. Due to construction, the accessible entrance to the museum is temporarily unavailable. Construction is projected to last through February 2024. We apologize for this inconvenience.
