RJD Trunk Show

The Rotch-Jones-Duff (RJD) House and Garden Museum will host the second annual RJD Trunk Show on Friday, October 21st and Saturday, October 22nd. Located at 396 County Street in New Bedford, the historic interiors of this Greek Revival mansion provide an unparalleled setting for this special shopping experience.

This year’s Trunk Show offerings include distinctive lines of ladies’ clothing, accessories, jewelry, and more. “We are delighted at the caliber of the designers who will participate in this year’s event,” notes Director Kate Corkum. The show provides shoppers with a welcome alternative to the usual shopping experience, and because vendors donate 20% of sales to underwrite the cost of student programming at the RJD, an opportunity to make a difference to the community.

Among the designer represented are Sara Campbell designs featuring clothing and accessories that seamlessly blend timeless and classic design with modern elements of fashion design. Another new exhibitor this year is Indo-Chic, a design house specializing in glorious silk jackets, tops, pants and skirts designed to compliment a variety of lifestyles, shapes and sizes.

Other presenters include: Lillie Designs with needlepoint footwear for men and women, patterned belts and petit point pillows; original earrings and necklaces by Emily Condon; Elizabeth Howland with one-of-a-kind scarves, jackets and accessories; scarves designed by Pat Thornton of Miatela Studio; the artwork of Sandra Hall; everlasting botanicals by Tish Bodell Hopkins; personalized stationary and gifts from Folia; and hand painted fine found objects from Shara Porter.

The Trunk Show opens with a Preview Party with wine and cheese on Friday, October 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The admission fee is $15. The show continues with free admission on Saturday, October 22nd from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
